Calories are units of energy. It’s a generalized mathematical formula that allows us to have an idea of how much we should eat to be adequately fueled for the day. The average adults should consume anywhere from 2,000 to 2,700 calories a day; however this will depend on your height, weight, age, gender and other factors as well.
