Distraction, mindfulness, suppression, substitution, and meditation are neurological avenues for people to clear their minds, even in the most difficult circumstances. Or so says Christopher Bergland, an ultra-endurance athlete who has completed the Badwater Ultramarathon, a 135 mile non-stop foot race (so we’re going to take his word for it…).
